Part 5: Mission - The King Begins to Reign

Christmas has come—but the story isn't over.

A prophet named John appears in the wilderness, calling the descendants of Abraham to repent and turn back to God and be baptized. When Jesus comes to the river, something extraordinary happens. The heavens open, the Spirit of God descends, and a voice speaks from above: "This is my beloved Son."

Almost immediately, Jesus is led into the wilderness to face the enemy alone. Forty days later, he returns victorious. When he announces his mission in his hometown, the people who watched him grow up try to throw him off a cliff.

Even John, now sitting in prison, sends messengers to ask the question everyone is wondering: Are you really the one we've been waiting for, or should we expect someone else?

And Jesus invites us to find out by following him—to see what the Kingdom of God looks like when it breaks into a world that isn't ready for it. The journey from Babylon to Bethlehem continues to wherever you are right now.
